Every year, the Hoek group supports the Children Cancer Free Foundation, or Kika. This year, together with the community, we have once again committed ourselves to raising as much money as possible in the fight against childhood cancer. Just like in previous years, we are once again super happy and proud of the great amount that we have been able to raise together. On behalf of everyone at the Hoek group, thank you very much!
For 15 years, we have been sponsoring flowers to sell during the ‘Kippenloop’. The Kippenloop is a local Katwijk initiative in which all volunteers and participants raise money for Kika by running together against cancer. In addition, the Hoek group has also been organizing its own events for 12 years, the proceeds of which also go to Kika.
KiKa Beach Party
On Saturday, May 26, the annual Kika Beach Party took place. This year, it was held at Sisters Beach in Katwijk. Here, sponsors were able to dance, drink and enjoy a spectacular party night that was all about the good cause.
KiKa Dinner
On Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June the Kika Dinner was held in the Allegonda in Katwijk. Sponsors were given the opportunity to buy a table for 4 people and dine at one of the most beautiful places in Katwijk with a view of the beach, the sea and the dunes. Surrounded by beautiful creations of the Mooij flowers, the sponsors enjoyed a 5-course dinner with matching wines.
KiKa Flower Sales
At the finish of the Kippenloop, our flower stall ‘De Kip’, set up by Hoek group, is located. In collaboration with many growers and customers, we were able to receive 3 trucks full of flowers this year to sell at the busy finish of the Kippenloop! For €5, everyone could choose 3 bunches of flowers. The many visitors and the men and women who helped worked up a sweat to get everything out. But this year too, we were completely ‘loose’ at the end of the day! Thanks to all suppliers, customers and employees of Hoek group who made ‘De Kip’ flower stall possible again this year!

We would like to thank everyone who, in whatever form, has supported the foundation ‘Doe het voor Kika’! This year too, we have been showered with flowers, sponsorship and the hands of volunteers. As a result, we have been able to raise no less than €270,000 for charity!
The money raised will be spent on research into pain relief during treatments, a better quality of life for the children with less damage after treatments and of course on new medicines to fight cancer.
On behalf of ‘Doe het voor Kika’ and the children, thank you very much again! We hope to be able to arrange for your support again next year, because we win the fight against childhood cancer together! Until next year!
