DO IT FOR KIKA

THANK YOU

We would like to thank everyone who, in whatever form, has given a warm heart to the “Do it for Kika” foundation! This year we are again overloaded with flowers, sponsorship and the hands of volunteers, which raised no less than €100,000!

The money raised will be spent on research into pain relief during the treatments, a better quality of life for the children (less damage after the treatments) and of course on new medicines to fight cancer.

KIKA BEACHPARTY

On Saturday 2 June the annual Kika Beach Party was again held at Beachclub het Wantveld. Led by top cover band The Recipe and 650 enthusiasts, it was a blast again! And the proceeds .. that is of course for Do it for Kika!

KIKA DINNER

On Saturday 26 May the Do it for Kika Dinner was held in Allegonda in Katwijk. Sponsors were given the opportunity to buy a table for 4 people and to dine at one of the most beautiful places in Katwijk with a view of the beach, sea and dune. The weather was more than fantastic that day, so we thought we were in Tuscany for a moment. The location was beautifully decorated with flowers by former “Best Flower Stylist of the Netherlands” winner Sarah Dikker.

A few weeks before dinner, the organization “Doe het voor Kika” went to the Sophia Children’s Hospital to present an idea of what they already had, namely: “Playing for Kika.” A day in which the sick children can enjoy themselves on painting canvas. Three weeks ago in Katwijk’s artist Simon de Jong went to the Sophia Children’s Hospital with his wife to make fantastic paintings there with the children (We have agreed with the parents not to publish photos, but we can tell you .. that smile on the faces .. they are unforgettable). Together with the children, Simon made a beautiful large painting that was raffled off on the evening of the Kika Dinner among those who wanted to participate. This painting was able to raise no less than € 17,000 that evening!

FLOWER STABLE

At the finish of the Chicken Run stands Flower Stall “the Chicken”, founded by  Hoek group. In cooperation with many growers and customers, this year 3 trucks full of flowers were delivered to the busy finish of the Chicken Run! For € 5 each can choose 3 bunches of flowers. The swarm of visitors and the men and women in the photo have literally worked themselves up in sweat to get everything away … but again this year we were as good as “loose”! Thanks to all suppliers, customers and employees of Dingeman Hoek who again made this year ‘De Kip’ flower stable possible!

On behalf of Do it for Kika and the children again thank you very much! We hope to be able to count on your support again in 2019 … because we will win the battle against childhood cancer together! See you next year!
